Hi there, I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at my work. I’m a mixed media artist with formal training in painting and printmaking. I studied at the National School of the Arts (Johannesburg, South Africa) and the University of Sydney (Australia). I’ve lived a pretty intrepid life which has taken me around the globe. While I live in a small town in Apulia (Italy), my roots are in Australia and South Africa where I was born then raised. My head spans across different cultures and places I’ve seen or resided in. With an outer backdrop that has often changed, art has always been the common denominator for me, the one constant.
I believe that one can never really be happy unless they reach their true potential, while doing what they love of course. So that’s where I’m at, just giving my inner artist my best shot. I’m in the process of starting an Etsy shop (ArtStudioKhara) and would love to collaborate on different projects or commissions.
I do my best to keep an environmentally- friendly studio so my painting and printmaking materials are water-based and therefore less toxic. I try to live a conscious and compassionate life in general, so this impacts what I put on my (plant-based) plate and how I create my work.
